Flows of handsets

LogicaCMG recently introduced an innovative service package for traffic information named Mobile Traffic Services (MTS). MTS uses anonymous information from a GSM network. Clever use of the properties of GSM network provides an insight on flows of handsets. As they state:
“With this insights we can supply traffic information on national, provincial and municipal roads. Using MTS, Traffic information can be gathered on the entire road network without the need to set up any new, expensive, logistically awkward infrastructure.”
The province of North Brabant in The Netherlands is the first customer for the new service.
Wonder when they start using the system to detect mobs…
