Solo Exhibition at Xcenter

Solo Exhibition

From 8. December – 14 January 2022, our Cell Phone Disco installation will be exhibited at Xcenter, Delpinova ulica 20, 5000 Nova Gorica, Slovenia.

The downtown of Nova Gorica, Slovenia is enriched by Xcenter, a new center of creative practices, which is emerging from the synergic combination of creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, art, education, and research. It encourages innovation in the culture-creative industries, experimental research through advanced workshops, the development of projects and all in all bolster productive socializing. It is one of the major projects of the European Capital of Culture Go!Borderless 2025.

Curator Jurij Krpan and Artistic Director of the Kersnikova Institute, invites us to reflect on society and time in which we live: “In Xcenter every month the konS platform will set up a new exhibition, that will inspire visitors with difference, presenting nowadays art to encourage people to think about how we live in this new technological society. Furthermore, how we see the opportunity in all of this and understand the technology in the way that we use it, not that the technology uses human society. Through these projects, we will also conduct workshops for research learning for all generations: children, youth, and adults. We will also carry out the process of educating mentors, who will then develop their own workshops in local environments and with these workshops connect fifth places representing hubs. Besides Ljubljana, Nova Gorica is currently the second most developed hub, with Xcenter as an example of good practice. With that big move, we would like to encourage other local communities to accelerate the establishment of new hubs for such cross-sectoral integration in other cities as well”.
